About the Role
Propel Paralegal Services seeks a bankruptcy paralegal with at least five years of recent, verifiable, debtor-side bankruptcy experience.
To succeed in this role, you must be organized, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, can multitask and prioritize in a virtual environment and be comfortable working independently. Must also have good research and investigation skills and knowledge of legal terminology.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing, drafting, and filing bankruptcy-related documents, including petitions and schedules, motions/objections, orders, notices, plans, Reaffirmation Agreements, Suggestions of Bankruptcy
Gathering information from debtors, creditors, trustees, and court clerks
Submitting legal documents to the Bankruptcy Court in a timely manner
Maintaining files, as well as filing and monitoring cases on electronic platforms
Must be able to read and interpret payment and financial records
Keep up to date on any changes from our clients and court requirements
Support and assist in preparing attorneys and clients for hearings
Provide orders and other pleadings to clients, as required
Monitor client systems, perform assigned tasks, and update per client’s expectations
Process necessary noticing
Effectively communicate with clients, creditor attorneys, trustees, and court staff
Obtain required bankruptcy dockets and current plan | Confirmation order
Competencies:
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Detail-oriented
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Excellent proofreading skills
Excellent communication skills
Qualifications:
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bankruptcy experience - 3 years minimum
Paralegal Certification/Degree preferred
Experience with Best Case, JubileePro and NextChapter
